ABOUT THIS LEAGUE

Open to players who identify as LGBTQIA+, nonbinary, and cisgender women who are ACTIVE allies. Refer to this resource from the Human Rights campaign on what it means to be an ally.

Our Lavender League stands as the flagship LGBTQIA+ focused league within Minnesota Dodgeball. We deeply understand the significance of establishing a dedicated space for the underrepresented LGBTQIA+ community within the realm of dodgeball. It is our steadfast commitment to cultivating an environment that not only acknowledges the unique experiences of this community but also actively strives to be a sanctuary of safety, inclusion, and celebration for all participants involved.

The creation of this league reflects our commitment to fostering diversity, ensuring that everyone feels seen, heard, and valued in the world of dodgeball. Through the Lavender League, we aim to contribute to the larger movement of promoting inclusivity and equality in sports, recognizing the importance of providing a platform where individuals from diverse backgrounds can come together, embrace their identities, and revel in the spirit of camaraderie and fair play.

Division: Advanced Draft

Designed for players with dodgeball experience seeking a higher level of competition, the Advanced Draft Division offers a balanced, skill-driven environment. Teams are drafted each season to ensure parity, encouraging strong teamwork and skillful play. While competitive, the division still emphasizes good sportsmanship and camaraderie, blending the thrill of the game with the fun of community interaction. Players newer to dodgeball may wish to start in the Recreational Division but are encouraged to challenge themselves in this division as they progress.
