Our Lavender League stands as the flagship LGBTQIA+ focused league within Minnesota Dodgeball. We deeply understand the significance of establishing a dedicated space for the underrepresented LGBTQIA+ community within the realm of dodgeball. It is our steadfast commitment to cultivating an environment that not only acknowledges the unique experiences of this community but also actively strives to be a sanctuary of safety, inclusion, and celebration for all participants involved.
The creation of this league reflects our commitment to fostering diversity, ensuring that everyone feels seen, heard, and valued in the world of dodgeball. Through the Lavender League, we aim to contribute to the larger movement of promoting inclusivity and equality in sports, recognizing the importance of providing a platform where individuals from diverse backgrounds can come together, embrace their identities, and revel in the spirit of camaraderie and fair play.
Due to the social nature of the league, league managers may restrict participation by players classified as Advanced and above in the salary bracket. This decision is based on factors such as competitiveness, temperament, and potential impact on the league environment. If you have any questions or are unsure if you qualify to play, please reach out to us.
Division: Rec Buddy Draft
Our Recreational Buddy Draft Division is a social league ideal for newcomers and casual players, focusing on fun, skill-building, and community. Open to all skill levels, this division drafts teams each season to create a welcoming, inclusive atmosphere. Whether you’re new to dodgeball or have played a few seasons, you’ll find this division an enjoyable way to connect with others. Experienced players may join on a case-by-case basis, though those looking for more competitive play are encouraged to explore the Advanced Draft Division.
In a buddy draft, players have the option to sign up alongside one other friend, pending space availability. We encourage players to keep the spirit of the league in mind. Players in higher salary brackets are strongly encouraged to pair up with players in a lower salary bracket. League management reserves the right to veto any buddy pairings that may create an imbalance in competitiveness.
